NEW DELHI: of and the have been a for the past few days. Many complained that they had got almost in the last two days and even private tankers were not easily available.
“There was no water on Sunday, and even on Monday, the supply was very limited. This has been going on for the past two-three days and we have no idea when the supply will become normal,” Pravin Bhardwaj, a resident of D2, said. Almost all blocks in Vasant Kunj have been affected.
DJB sources said there were maintenance issues at the Sonia Vihar plant, which supplies water to the colony. DJB is hoping to normalise the supply at the earliest, a source said.
However, Vasant Kunj residents are not ready to accept this explanation. “We have been getting messages for the past three days that repairs are going on at the plant. Every day, DJB says the supply will normalise the next day,” said Harjinder Saroha, vice-chairman of Sector-C RWA. “People have been struggling for the last three days. Even private tankers are not readily available.”
Many nearby areas are also reporting the same problem. “Our water supply has been affected for the past few days. We got a message from DJB that there are some issues in supply which will be normalised soon,” said a resident of a DDA flat in Vasant Vihar.
In Greater Kailash, too, residents have similar complaints. “Every summer we face the same problem. The pumping stations in our area are very old and have low capacities. For the last three days, the situation has become worse,” said M K Gupta, president of the S Block RWA in GK-I. No official comment was available from DJB on the issue.
