VARANASI: Referring to villages as the epicentre of nation’s development, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said could be brand ambassadors for villages and could play a key role in the execution of development programmes.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath was in Varanasi for a two-day visit and attended a programme of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan on Sunday .
Yogi said that gram pradhans should not only be aware of the welfare schemes and development programmes launched by the government but should also extend their support in the overall development of villages. He exhorted village heads to contribute to the nation’s development given that villages are considered as the epicentre of development. Addressing the gram pradhans of Varanasi district on Sunday, the CM said that there could be no alternative to development and the UP government was committed to usher in development in villages to uplift the rural masses.
The CM said that so far 4,487 villages in UP had been identified as beneficiaries under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.“In the next phase, 13,500 UP villages would be included in the campaign,” he added.
